Healing and regenerationHGF (Hepatocyte Growth Factor): c-Met ligand, regeneration and anti-fibrosisHGF is not a peptide but a ~90 kDa two-chain glycoprotein related to plasminogen, carrying a catalytically dead protease domain. It is the sole ligand of the c-Met proto-oncogene. This monograph covers structure, its threefold discovery, knockout and liver-regeneration evidence, the failed phase 3 of VM202 gene therapy, and open questions. RUO.
