Practical dosing and effect details
KPV (Lys-Pro-Val) is a fragment of alpha-MSH, which is why research interest in it centers on anti-inflammatory activity. Kannengiesser and colleagues (Inflammatory Bowel Diseases, 2008) showed that giving KPV to mice with chemically induced colitis (a DSS model) sped recovery and reduced inflammatory tissue infiltration compared with controls. Those results come from mice and a model of intestinal inflammation, so they do not prove an effect from subcutaneous use in humans.
KPV is a tripeptide, one of the smallest molecules among the peptides on this site; that small size is linked to a short circulation time in blood, which is why protocols describe daily dosing and cap the cycle at 4 to 8 weeks rather than continuous use. Short peptides like KPV are not usually taken orally in research settings: digestive enzymes break them down before they can reach the bloodstream, which is why the subcutaneous route stays the standard one in the schedule above.
