KPV is a tripeptide (lysine-proline-valine), the C-terminal fragment of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH). Preclinical research studies it for anti-inflammatory activity, including its ability to inhibit the NF-κB signaling pathway, in models of intestinal inflammation, skin inflammation, and mucosal-tissue repair.
