GHRP-6
GHRP-6 (Growth Hormone Releasing Peptide-6)
About
GHRP-6 is a synthetic hexapeptide (6 amino acids) in the growth-hormone-secretagogue class. It acts as an agonist at the GH secretagogue receptor (GHS-R1a) — the same receptor as endogenous ghrelin — and is studied in research models for stimulating pulsatile GH release from the pituitary.
Unlike GHRH analogues such as CJC-1295 it works through a separate receptor, which is why the two classes are frequently studied together in the literature. GHRP-6 is also noted for a pronounced effect on appetite in models — a direct consequence of the ghrelin pathway.
Supplied as a lyophilized powder; every batch is assayed by HPLC.
