B7-33 is a synthetic single-chain peptide derived from the B-chain of human relaxin-2 and the first reported functionally selective (biased) agonist of the RXFP1 receptor. Unlike two-chain native relaxin, it reproduces the core anti-fibrotic signalling (via the pERK1/2 axis) within a single short chain that is far simpler to synthesise.
In preclinical research (the Hossain and Bathgate groups at the Florey Institute), B7-33 showed anti-fibrotic and vasoprotective activity in cell and rodent models of the heart, lung and kidney, reduced infarct size in mice, and — unlike full-length relaxin — did not promote prostate tumour growth.
This is a rare, frontier research compound that Longeva keeps in stock when others will not source it.
